ScienceDirect is the electronic platform to search the full text of all Elsevier’s electronic books and journals. Some recent changes to ScienceDirect include:

• More transparency of supplementary material and multimedia content in journal and book content.
• The ability to search the full text of all Elsevier electronic content (“All Fields”) as the default search setting.

Scopus, the world's largest abstract and citation database, covers 16000+ literature source titles, 400+ million science specific web items, and 5 different patent offices. The most recent changes to Scopus include:

• Improvements to feeds/alerts for author publications and citations.
• Improvements to the Journal Analyzer Tool, including the ability to see the percentage of uncited articles in a journal.
• Search enhancements such as the ability to search on First Author, Exact Phrase {}, and Loose Phrase “”.

Top Tip: Use proximity operators to find relationships between words. There are two Scopus proximity operators: w/n and pre/n. “n” can be any number between 0 and 255. Example: solar w/3 energy will return results where solar is within 3 terms of energy.
